Ingredients

  • 4 cups water for brewing the tea
  • 3 teabags herbal tea bags choose your favorite herbal blend
  • 0.5 cups sugar adjust to taste
  • ice cubes amount variable ice for cooling and blending

Equipment

  • Kettle or Saucepan
  • Fine Mesh Sieve
  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Glass or Serving Cups

Method

  1. Bring water to a quick boil in a kettle or saucepan, then pour over the herbal tea bags in a heatproof container. Steep for about 5 minutes until the tea is vibrant and fragrant, then remove the tea bags and let the brewed tea cool completely to room temperature.
  2. Add sugar to the cooled tea while it's still warm, stirring until fully dissolved. This helps the sugar integrate smoothly. Let the sweetened tea cool further if needed, then transfer it to the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to chill.
  3. Pour the chilled brewed tea into a blender. Add a generous handful of ice cubes—about 1 to 1.5 cups—depending on your preferred slushie thickness.
  4. Blend on high until the mixture is slushy and smooth, with a thick, icy texture. This should take about 30 seconds to a minute; stop when the drink appears well-mixed and frosty.
  5. Taste the slushie and, if desired, add a little more sweetener or extra ice for a colder, thicker consistency. Blend again briefly if you add anything.
  6. Pour the icy tea slushie into glasses or cups. Garnish with fresh herbs or a citrus slice if you like, to add a decorative touch.

Notes

For a more layered flavor, experiment with different herbal teas or add fresh herbs before blending. Use fine mesh sieve to strain out any loose tea leaves if necessary. Adjust the sweetness to your preference and serve immediately for the best icy texture.
