Ingredients

  • 2 bottles cold Coca-Cola chilled ahead of time
  • 1/4 cup cherry syrup preferably red, sweetened
  • 2 cups ice cubes crushed or whole to blend easily

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving glasses

Method

  1. Measure out the cherry syrup and set it aside, making sure it’s ready to pour.
  2. Fill a blender with ice cubes, aiming for about two cups for a thick, slushy consistency.
  3. Pour in the chilled Coca-Cola into the blender with the ice, being careful to avoid overfilling for easier blending.
  4. Start blending on a low setting, gently pulsing until the mixture begins to thicken and the ice breaks down evenly.
  5. Pause briefly and pour in the cherry syrup while the blender is running, allowing it to swirl through the ice and soda.
  6. Continue blending until you achieve a thick, frosty texture where the ice is fully crushed and the color swirls beautifully.
  7. Scoop or pour the slushie into glasses, noting the marbled patterns created by the cherry syrup within the icy mixture.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, watching the vibrant swirls and the icy, refreshing texture.

Notes

Adjust the amount of cherry syrup to taste for sweetness. For an extra icy slushie, add more ice and re-blend. To prevent overflowing, blend in pulses rather than continuous high speed. Enjoy immediately for the best frosty texture.
